This Privacy Policy explains how TalkUp LLC ("we," "us," "our") handles information for the Friction mobile application (the "App").

1.1 Information We Do Not Collect

• Screen Time data: We do not collect, store, or share your Screen Time usage data, app usage history, or related Apple Screen Time reporting data.
• Raw exercise video/images: We do not collect or store camera recordings for exercise detection.
• Face, body, or biometric databases: We do not build or store biometric profiles.

1.2 Limited Information Processed on Device

• Screen Time protection settings: App-blocking and unlock logic are configured locally on your device using Apple frameworks.
• Exercise detection outputs: The app may use on-device model output (for example, detected reps or completion state) to unlock protected apps.
• Basic app state: Configuration needed for app functionality may be stored locally on your device.

1.3 Information You Voluntarily Provide

If you contact support, we receive the information you include in your message (such as your email address and support details).

2. How Exercise Detection Works

Friction uses an on-device machine-learning model to evaluate exercise completion. This processing is performed locally on your phone.

• Camera data is analyzed in real time on-device.
• Camera frames are not transmitted to our servers.
• We do not retain camera frames or exercise model input/output data on our servers.

3. How We Use Information

We use limited information only to operate and support Friction, including to:

• Enforce app protection and unlock workflows on your device.
• Respond to support requests you send us.
• Maintain app reliability and security.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal information. We do not share your Screen Time usage information.

We may share limited data only when necessary to comply with law, enforce legal rights, or process support requests at your direction.

5. Data Retention

• Screen Time data: Not collected by us, therefore not retained by us.
• Exercise camera/model data: Not stored by us.
• Support communications: Retained only as needed to address your request and for reasonable business/legal recordkeeping.

6. Permissions Used by the App

• Screen Time / Family Controls: Used to apply selected app restrictions.
• Camera: Used for on-device exercise detection.
• Notifications: Used for app reminders and challenge-related notifications.

7. Children's Privacy

Friction is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information we handle. No method of storage or transmission is fully secure, but our design minimizes cloud collection by keeping sensitive processing on-device.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding personal information (such as access, deletion, or correction). You can contact us to make a request.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date when changes are made.
